Remote Online Notary - Available Nationwide

We Get Your Documents Notarized Online. | Fast. Secure. Simple.

Need a document notarized but cannot meet with a notary in person? Remote Online Notarization (RON) allows eligible documents to be notarized through a secure online platform using live audio-video technology.

With Premium Notary & Legal Services, you can meet with a Colorado-commissioned notary from your computer, tablet, or smartphone. After completing the required identity verification, you connect with your notary by live video, electronically sign where required, and get a digital notary stamp and signature to complete your notarization.

Once the session is complete, your notarized electronic document is immediately available for download through the platform.

Online Notary Appointments Start at $35

No travel. No in-person appointment. No need to visit a notary's office.

RON appointments are available nationwide for eligible documents. Please verify with the issuing party if online notarization is accepted. The Notary is not responsible for verifying or ensuring acceptance of RON for your documents. Eligible signers located abroad may also be able to use the service, depending on applicable law, document requirements, and acceptance by the receiving organization. Same-day, evening, and after-hour appointment times may be available depending on availability.

How Does Remote Online Notarization Work?

Our online notarization process is completed through a platform that supports identity verification, live video communication, electronic signing, and digital notarization.

Step 1: Prepare and Upload Your Document

Have your document filled out but unsigned and ready before your appointment. Upload a clear PDF copy of your document following the prompts provided by the online platform. Unless instructed otherwise, leave signature fields that must be signed during notarization unsigned.

Step 2: Access the Online Platform

Follow the platform's instructions to create or access your account and join your scheduled session. Use a compatible device with a working camera, microphone, and reliable internet connection. Cell phones do work but can be difficult to properly operate the system, such as applying your signature.

Step 3: Verify Your Identity

Complete the required identity-verification process. This may include an identity verification, credential analysis, and /or knowledge-based authentication questions.

You must successfully complete the required verification steps before the notarization can proceed.

Step 4: Meet Your Notary by Live Video

Your Colorado-commissioned notary will connect with you in a live audio-video session, verify your identity as required, and complete the applicable notarial process.

You will electronically sign where required, and the notary will complete the electronic notarial certificate and apply the required digital notary seal and signature.

Step 5: Download Your Notarized Document

After the session is completed, your electronic document will be available for download immediately through the platform.

An electronically notarized document may be an original electronic record rather than a scan of a paper document. However, acceptance depends on the document, applicable law, and the organization receiving it.

Can I Use an Online Notary From Another State?

In many cases, yes. Remote Online Notarization laws may allow a notary to notarize for a signer who is physically located in a different state from the notary.

Premium Notary & Legal Services uses a Colorado notary commission. Whether your appointment can proceed depends on the applicable laws, the location and circumstances of the signer, the document, and any relevant restrictions.

Before scheduling, confirm that the organization receiving your document accepts remote online notarization and electronic signatures.

Can I Get a U.S. Document Notarized While Abroad?

Potentially. Some people outside the United States can use a U.S.-commissioned remote online notary for eligible, US related documents. However, international appointments require additional consideration.

Eligibility may depend on the signer's location, applicable Colorado law, the purpose of the document, and the requirements of the receiving organization or foreign authority.

If you are abroad, tell us where you are located, what document you need notarized, and where it will be submitted. We can discuss the relevant requirements before you book, but acceptance cannot be guaranteed.

What Documents Can Be Notarized Online?

Many common personal, business, and real estate documents may be eligible for RON, depending on applicable law and the requirements of the receiving organization.

Examples may include:

  • Estate planning documents: Eligible powers of attorney, affidavits, and certain estate planning documents.

  • Business and corporate documents: Business agreements, corporate records, and other eligible business paperwork.

  • Real estate documents: Certain transaction documents, including eligible loan-related documents.

  • Site development plans: Eligible plans and related documents requiring notarization.

  • Employment documents: Certain forms and declarations, including pension and FMLA.

  • DMV and travel-related documents: Eligible forms that permit remote online notarization including interlock.

This list is not a guarantee of eligibility. Some documents, including certain vital records, court filings, government forms, and transactions subject to special rules, may require a different process.

Before booking, confirm that the receiving organization accepts a remotely notarized electronic document. This is especially important for real estate transactions, court matters, government filings, and documents intended for use outside the United States.

When Might RON Not Be Appropriate?

Remote Online Notarization may not be suitable when:

  • The document is incomplete or missing required information.

  • The signer cannot pass the required identity verification.

  • The required notarial act or certificate cannot be completed properly.

  • Applicable law or the transaction requires an in-person notarization.

  • The receiving organization does not accept RON or electronic documents.

  • The notary has a reason to question whether the signer understands the act, is acting voluntarily, or is otherwise eligible to proceed.

A notary cannot provide legal advice, explain the legal effect of a document, or determine whether a document meets your legal needs. If you are unsure about eligibility or acceptance, check with the receiving organization or a qualified legal professional before scheduling.

How Much Does Online Notarization Cost?

Remote Online Notarization appointments start at $35.

The total price may vary based on the number of notarizations, additional signers or witnesses, platform requirements, and other appointment needs. Any applicable additional charges will be explained before your appointment is confirmed.

If your document requires multiple signers, special witness arrangements, or additional coordination, please let us know when requesting your appointment.

Online Notary vs. Mobile Notary vs. E-Notary

  • Remote Online Notarization (RON): You meet your notary through live video and complete the notarization electronically.

  • Mobile Notary: Your notary travels to an agreed location, and the notarization is generally completed on paper in person.

  • In-Person E-Notary: You meet the notary in person, but eligible documents are notarized electronically.

The right option depends on your document, your circumstances, and the receiving organization's requirements.
